FY End Encumbrance Removals
Now is a good time to liquidate any outdated encumbrances before year end. Did you know that the Controller's Office must do a journal entry on 6/30 for all your open encumbrances, every year? For example, if you have a PO with 20 lines and 1¢ is left on a single line, the Controller's Office must complete a 20 line journal entry each June 30th until you liquidate that penny. Liquidating these old balances not only speeds up the year end close process but helps give you a true picture of your remaining available balance.
